Dr. Renaud Rodrigue Explains How the Intensive Outpatient Pain Program Works
About the Intensive Outpatient Pain Program
Our 28-day Intensive Outpatient Pain Program is designed for EDS patients and others living with chronic pain who need more than conventional treatment. Participants attend the center 3–5 days per week for 6–8 hours per day, receiving comprehensive, multidisciplinary care that targets both physical and emotional recovery.
Core Program Components Include:
Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT): Retrains the brain’s response to chronic pain.
Cognitive Behavioral Training (CBT): Builds healthier coping and thought patterns.
VR Biofeedback: Uses immersive technology to reduce pain and stress.
Individualized Physician Care: 2–3 sessions per week to monitor progress and adjust treatment.
Comprehensive Evaluations: Ongoing assessments by pain, psychiatry, and addiction specialists.
Individual & Group Therapy: Personalized support and shared healing experiences.
Nutritional Counseling: Diet guidance to support physical and emotional well-being.
Stress Management: Mindfulness, relaxation, and breathing techniques.
Neuroplasticity Training: Helps the brain rewire its response to pain over time.
This integrative program offers a scientifically grounded, compassionate path toward lasting relief and improved quality of life for individuals with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and other chronic pain conditions.
Who Benefits from This Program
While we welcome patients with a wide range of chronic pain conditions, more than 80% of current participants are living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
Our team understands the realities of EDS, including:
Frequent dislocations and fatigue
